What is Hair fall according to Ayurveda?

Increased hair fall in Ayurveda is termed as Khalitya.  In Khalitya, Vitiated Pitta along with vitiated Vata dosha, situated at Hair follicles, leads to dislodging or withering of the hair from their roots. Along with it, vitiated Kapha dosha & Rakta covers up & causes obstruction of hair roots. Hence no further hair growth can take place at that site. Khalitya is mainly Pitta dominant disorder but vitiation of all three dosha is seen.
