GASTRITIS

Gastritis is an Inflammation, irritation or erosion of the stomach. Its onset can be acute or chronic. It can be related with Amla-Pitta, where vitiation of Vata and Pitta dosha takes place resulting in Vomiting/Nausea, Abdominal bloating, abdominal pain etc.

What are the causes of Gastritis?

  1. Excessive intake of alcohol
  2. Stress
  3. Use of certain medications such as Aspirin, Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs etc.
  4. Chronic vomiting
  5. Bile reflux
  6. pylori is a bacteria which lives in mucous lining of stomach
  7. Certain bacteria or viruses

Signs and Symptoms

  1. Nausea /Vomiting
  2. Abdominal bloating
  3. Abdominal pain
  4. Indigestion
  5. Loss of appetite
  6. Hiccups
  7. Burning sensation in the stomach
  8. Black, tarry stools

  1. Detoxification processes i. e Panchakarma such as Vaman, Virechana etc.
  2. Internal medication for pacification of vitiated Pitta such as Drakshadileha, Kushmandaleha, and Bhoonimbadikashay etc.
  3. Strict diet management
  4. Moderate exercises, many Yoga postures/ Pranayam is useful in this condition
